Job summary

The Ministry of Defence seeks a Risk Manager for a 12-month Inside IR35 contract with hybrid working 3 days a week in Plymouth or Portsmouth. You will lead risk management across the Devonport Major Infrastructure Portfolio and provide strategic guidance to senior leaders.

Essential qualifications include extensive risk management experience and a practitioner-level qualification, with membership of APM. Preference for active security clearance and experience with NEC4 contracts and government

Qualifications

Extensive risk management experience.
Experience in working in major complex projects.
Hold a recognised Risk Management qualification at Practitioner level or equivalent.
Membership of APM.
Preference may be given to candidates who hold active security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead and continuously improve risk and issue management across the Devonport Major Infrastructure Portfolio.
Establish a consistent, evidence-based approach to identification, assessment, ownership, treatment, monitoring, reporting and escalation of risks and issues across portfolio, programme and project activity.
Provide expert strategic-level advice to SRO, Portfolio Head, programme and project leaders, governance bodies and risk and issue owners.
Support accountable owners to understand exposure and develop proportionate mitigation or response plans; escalate when necessary.
