Job summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a Risk Manager for a 12-month Inside IR35 contract with hybrid working (3 days per week) in Plymouth or Portsmouth. You will lead risk and issue management across a major infrastructure portfolio and provide strategic risk guidance to senior leaders.

Essential criteria include extensive risk management experience, major complex projects exposure, a Practitioner-level qualification, and APM membership.

Qualifications

• Extensive risk management experience.
• Experience in major complex projects.
• Hold a recognised Risk Management qualification at Practitioner level or equivalent.
• Membership of APM.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for leading and continuously improving risk and issue management across the Devonport Major Infrastructure Portfolio.
• Establish a consistent, proportionate and evidence-based approach to identification, assessment, ownership, treatment, monitoring, reporting and escalation of risks and issues across portfolio, programme and project activity.
• Provide expert strategic-level advice to the SRO, Portfolio Head, programme and project leaders, governance bodies and risk and issue owners.
• Support accountable owners to understand exposure, develop proportionate mitigation or response plans, identify opportunities, and escalate matters when exposure exceeds tolerances.
