Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead rail infrastructure projects in the UK. You will provide technical leadership, oversee design delivery, mentor teams, and act as a client contact across multidisciplinary groups.

You will bring CRE experience on Network Rail projects and strong knowledge of Eurocodes, NR standards, and key design tools. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and professional development within a global, inclusive firm.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering rail infrastructure projects and leading design teams.
• Chartered Engineer status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop design team members across rail projects.
• Oversee technical delivery from concept to completion, ensuring quality and compliance.
• Act as a key client contact, presenting proposals and managing stakeholders.
• Support commercial management and maintain project records while CPD'ing the team.
