Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Principal Civil Engineer (Rail CRE) in Glasgow to lead rail infrastructure design teams and deliver projects across the UK. The role involves technical leadership and client-facing responsibilities within a multidisciplinary environment.

You will oversee design deliverables, ensure compliance with standards, and contribute to CPD and team growth within a driven, safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering rail infrastructure projects and leading design teams.
• Chartered Engineer status (desirable) or working toward chartership.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop design team members.
• Oversee technical delivery of rail projects from concept to completion.
• Champion SHE best practices across all project activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Act as a key client contact and provide project updates.
