Job summary

RG Setsquare seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its busy Capital Works division delivering long-term planned maintenance and refurbishment across Gloucestershire. The role covers kitchen and bathroom replacements, decarbonisation, external works and wider refurbishment in occupied properties.

You will prepare estimates, measure on site, manage subcontractors, and produce valuations and reports while supporting cash flow and commercial performance on multiple contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor, Project Surveyor or Commercial Surveyor.
• Experience managing projects up to 3 million.
• Strong cost control, valuations, forecasting and contract administration.
• Experience in refurbishment, planned maintenance, social housing, capital works or construction.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and maximizing value.
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates, tenders and cost plans for planned works and refurbishment projects.
• Measure works on site and produce accurate valuations.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities throughout project lifecycles.
• Produce budget cost value reconciliations and support contract planning.
• Work with Contracts Managers to meet commercial and operational objectives.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, variations and change control processes.
• Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and site teams.
• Monitor project costs, labour performance and productivity.
• Produce monthly valuations, forecasts and commercial reports.
• Support cash flow management and commercial performance across multiple contracts.
