Job summary

Bolsover District Council is seeking a Public Procurement Officer to oversee end-to-end procurement of goods, services and works, ensuring compliance with public sector legislation and value for money. Based at The Arc, Clowne, you will collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver strategic sourcing and robust procurement processes.

The role requires experience in public procurement, strong knowledge of UK legislation, and excellent communication and stakeholder management

Qualifications

• Experience in public procurement and governance in a public sector environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK public procurement legislation (Public Contract Regulations 2015, Procurement Act 2023, Public Contract Regulations 2024).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage end-to-end procurement processes in line with public sector regulations and internal policies.
• Prepare tender documentation, manage competitive bidding processes, and evaluate supplier proposals.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand procurement needs and provide expert guidance.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies that support organisational objectives.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and contribute to reporting and audit requirements.
• Provide guidance and support training to internal teams on procurement best practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best practices in procurement.
