National Grid is seeking a Senior Public Affairs Manager - Strategic Infrastructure to lead reputation-building and external engagement across England and Wales. The role will influence parliamentarians, government officials, think tanks, and industry groups.

You will shape strategic communications, horizon scanning, and policy responses while guiding a team and collaborating with cross-functional partners in Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, and Strategy.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in public affairs, government relations, or corporate communications.
• Strong understanding of political landscape and regulatory processes.
• Proven ability to develop and execute public affairs strategies.
• Excellent presentation and spokesperson skills.
• Experience in fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to build reputation and influence stakeholders externally.
• Collaborate with UK and devolved government officials and trade bodies.
• Contribute to policy development and external communications.
• Advise senior leaders on political intelligence and insights.
• Build networks with external stakeholders and feed intelligence back.
• Monitor strategic issues affecting the business and provide insights.
• Manage the performance and development of direct reports.
