Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Protective Security Risk Lead to identify and manage security risks across our critical infrastructure. You will lead risk assessments, maintain risk registers and KRIs, and present clear, actionable insights.

Embed risk management into business processes, define risk appetites, and develop robust frameworks. Strong stakeholder engagement and senior-level communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in regulated or Protective Security environments with risk management.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, maintain risk registers, KRIs and risk frameworks.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles and potential impacts.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and communication skills for senior stakeholders.
• Experience in risk assessment schedules and continuous improvement is advantageous.
• Water industry/CNI experience and project management are beneficial.
• Relevant Risk Management or Security qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead Protective Security risk assessments using threat and vulnerability data.
• Embed risk management into business processes and decision-making.
• Define, maintain and communicate risk tolerances and appetite.
• Develop and improve Risk Management and Control frameworks.
• Maintain risk registers and KRIs with clear reporting.
• Produce risk reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
• Governance and assurance for protective security; track risk actions.
• Develop a robust risk assessment schedule across the business.
