Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Protective Security Document Management Lead in Reading. You will own the policies, standards, procedures and guidance that underpin Protective Security operations, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and regulatory alignment.

The role requires strong document control, governance and stakeholder engagement across the organisation. You will manage the full documentation lifecycle, support audits and ensure compliance while safeguarding people, assets and data.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in document management, policy development or governance.
• Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to translate complex information into clear documentation.
• Experience in regulated or security-focused environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance and governance of Protective Security policies, standards, procedures and guidance.
• Manage the full documentation lifecycle including drafting, review, approvals, version control and audits.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, leadership) to produce clear, user-focused documentation and drive process improvements.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update documentation, ensuring communication, training and adoption across the organisation.
• Act as a trusted adviser on document governance and best practice.
