Job summary

Rated Traders Ltd seeks a senior property professional to lead the Council's strategic asset management and corporate landlord function. You will set asset strategies, oversee valuations, governance, and performance to support service delivery and regeneration objectives.

You will manage professional teams, drive estate optimisation, advise senior leaders, and ensure compliance with RICS and CIPFA guidance while developing long-term property plans.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant property subject with substantial post-qualification experience.
• Corporate membership of the RICS (MRICS or FRICS).
• In-depth knowledge of landlord & tenant matters and relevant legislation.
• Proven experience in valuations including asset valuation work.
• Demonstrable experience in development appraisal, regeneration or site delivery.
• Experience supervising staff and APC development.
• Strong communication, negotiation and report writing skills.
• Significant experience in strategic asset management and corporate property portfolio management.
• Proven history leading complex property programmes and organisational change.
• Experience advising senior leaders and elected Members on strategic property matters.
• Experience developing and implementing property strategies, policies and business plans.
• Experience managing substantial budgets and delivering financial efficiencies.
• Full driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Council's property estate and asset management.
• Lead the Strategic Asset Management Plan development and property strategies.
• Drive estate rationalisation, income generation and capital receipts.
• Develop corporate property policies and frameworks for organisational consistency.
• Oversee management of operational and investment assets for value and alignment.
• Lead strategic property reviews to ensure fit for purpose amid service changes.
• Advise on valuation matters and oversee asset valuation programmes per RICS/CIPFA.
• Support service plans and long-term property strategies with APC leadership.
• Provide deputising support for Head of Property, Regeneration & Economic Development.
