Job summary

SYOS Aerospace in the UK is seeking a highly organized Production Planner to join our Production team. This key role coordinates production schedules, ensures materials and resources are available, and supports on-time delivery of customer programmes.

Working across departments, you will maintain production flow, monitor progress against schedules, and drive improvements across the business, leveraging Lean, 5S, and other optimisation initiatives.

Qualifications

  • ERP/MRP systems knowledge and advanced production planning techniques.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in manufacturing/engineering/aerospace/marine/automotive environments.
  • Proficient with scheduling software such as SAP APO or Oracle ASCP.
  • Ability to monitor production performance and identify improvements.
  • Strong communication across departments.
  • Proactive, solution-focused approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed production schedules to support manufacturing and delivery activities.
  • Plan capacity across assembly, electrical, mechanical, and commissioning teams.
  • Monitor progress against schedules and implement recovery plans.
  • Coordinate the release of work orders and production documentation.
  • Work closely with Procurement and Stores to ensure material availability.
  • Track work-in-progress and maintain production forecasts.
  • Produce regular production status updates for management.
  • Support labour planning and resource allocation across production teams.
  • Participate in daily and weekly production meetings to communicate priorities.
  • Coordinate internal and external resources involved in product completion and handover.
  • Support continuous improvement activities including Lean Manufacturing and 5S.
