Job summary

Independent Forgings and Alloys Ltd (IFA) in Sheffield seeks an experienced Production Director to lead all on-site manufacturing operations. Reporting to the CEO, you will shape and execute the operational strategy while championing safety, quality, delivery and cost control.

You will drive continuous improvement, lead capital investments and develop a high-performing leadership team across manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and HSE.

Qualifications

• Experience leading at Production/Manufacturing/Operations/Plant Director level in heavy manufacturing or engineering.
• Strong Lean and continuous improvement mindset across multiple departments.
• Proven ability to develop high-performing leadership teams and drive cultural change.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a manufacturing strategy aligned to business objectives and growth ambitions.
• Lead all Manufacturing activities and influence Engineering, Maintenance and HSE to achieve operational excellence.
• Champion safety culture and ensure compliance with statutory and industry standards.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement to improve productivity, OEE, quality and delivery.
• Oversee capital investments, new technologies, and process improvements.
• Build a high-performing leadership team and develop talent for future growth.
• Prepare and manage operational budgets and cost control, with data-driven reporting.
