Job summary

Forged Solutions Group, a well established manufacturing business at their Darley Dale site, seeks a Manufacturing Manager to own Production and Manufacturing Engineering across the site. The role sits on the Darley Dale Leadership Team, reporting to the Plant Manager, and shapes day-to-day performance and strategic direction.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline is preferred.
• Evidence of defining and delivering an operational strategy.
• Track record of building effective teams and implementing business improvement processes.
• Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven, inspirational leadership with high emotional intelligence.
• Professional, hands-on approach with strong work ethic.
• Able to work under pressure and deliver to defined deadlines.
• A logical, analytical and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an effective EHS culture across the site.
• Drive Operational Excellence through SQCDP methodology.
• Champion Visual Factory standards.
• Support Wellbeing and Engagement initiatives.
• Meet operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
• Set up systems to measure operational management and development.
• Lead and build a high performing operations team.
• Succession planning for business continuity.
• Coach the team through performance development plans.
• Use skills matrices to develop team capability.
• Work cross functionally with EHS, Quality, Supply Chain and Engineering.
• Support the site’s capital expenditure process.
• Manage inventory levels, including stock take.
• Own quarterly business plans aligned with the wider strategy.
• Review and react to changing priorities.
