Job summary

Seven Group Holdings Limited in Cheltenham is seeking a Procurement Officer on a full-time ongoing contract. You will support the Council's Strategic Procurement Service, leading tender activities and providing specialist advice in a flexible environment.

You will build relationships with commissioners, outcome managers and suppliers, translate needs into tender documents, and ensure value for money and compliance with procurement regulations.

Qualifications

• Sound procurement knowledge and ability to translate needs into tender documents.
• Proven track record in managing significant or complex tenders.
• Experience researching markets and suppliers to maximise value for money and minimise risk.
• Strong relationships with stakeholders and external organisations.
• Delivery skills within time-constrained environments.
• Familiarity with procurement regulations and contract law risk management.
• Ability to design tenders that achieve desired outcomes with optimal risk and value.
• GCSEs Maths and English at A-C level.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and insightful advice to commissioners and clients, ensuring value for money and outcomes.
• Utilise specialist knowledge to achieve outstanding results.
• Conduct market and supplier research to inform commissioning and commercial strategies.
• Lead or participate in procurement projects and contribute to project/review board meetings.
• Assess and enhance social value through procurement activities.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with procurement activities.
• Keep current with procurement policies and legislative changes.
• Ensure all actions comply with legal and Council requirements.
• Prepare detailed procurement strategies with findings and recommendations.
