This leading retail company is experiencing continued success, with significant growth leading to increased investment in their Strategic Procurement function. They are seeking a proven procurement professional to join their team and contribute to further development of their procurement maturity.

As a Strategic Procurement Manager in this greenfield function, you will collaborate with senior management, lead procurement strategy, implement best practices, and drive impactful change across various spend categories. This role offers autonomy and the chance to deliver cost savings and process improvements in both short and long term.

The client welcomes candidates from both Direct and Indirect Procurement backgrounds. Due to the diverse nature of the business, the procurement manager will oversee a broad range of spend areas, making each day different.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing across multiple categories, including contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.
2. Define procurement strategy and implement process improvements to shape the function's direction.
3. Build relationships with stakeholders across functions, liaising with senior management to influence procurement practices.
4. Ensure compliance and promote best practices throughout the sourcing process.
5. Create RFIs & RFPs for major procurement projects, managing complex tenders from start to finish.

Required Experience:

1. Experience in end-to-end procurement and strategic sourcing within either indirect or direct categories, including capex, opex, facilities management, or professional services.
2. Experience in developing greenfield procurement functions is advantageous.
3. Ability to lead procurement initiatives confidently and drive improvements.
4. Degree qualification; CIPS qualification or MCIPS status preferred.
5. Strong knowledge of procurement processes, sourcing, contracts, and negotiation.
6. Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment and engage credibly with senior stakeholders.
