Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Procurement Manager for Project Letchmore Heath Power Station to lead subcontract, materials, plant and services procurement across the project. You will develop strategy, manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery within budget.

The role requires strong commercial and contractual awareness, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to work closely with project teams to optimise cost, quality and programme milestones.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Procurement Manager or senior procurement role.
• Experience procuring subcontract packages, materials, plant and specialist services.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Excellent negotiation and supplier-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Developing and managing procurement schedules in line with the overall project programme.
• Managing enquiries, tendering, bid analysis and supplier/subcontractor selection.
• Negotiating commercial terms, pricing and contractual conditions.
• Placing and managing purchase orders and subcontract packages.
• Identifying long-lead items and ensuring procurement activities support key programme dates.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitoring supplier performance, lead times and delivery commitments.
• Working closely with the Commercial team to achieve best value while maintaining quality and programme requirements.
• Identifying procurement risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
• Ensuring procurement activities comply with company procedures, project requirements and relevant contractual obligations.
