Job summary

Select Plant Hire, part of Laing O’Rourke, is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead plant hire, tools and equipment procurement. Based near St Neots, you’ll shape supplier relationships and drive value across the supply chain in collaboration with operational and commercial teams.

You will develop strategic partnerships, ensure governance compliance, and support continuous improvement to enhance service, efficiency and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant hire procurement and related equipment.
• Strong supplier relationship management across supply chains.
• Proven track record in commercial negotiations related to hire agreements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for externally hired plant, tools and equipment.
• Lead supplier performance management and risk mitigation.
• Negotiate hire and framework agreements, rebates and service levels.
• Monitor supplier capability and market conditions to identify opportunities and risks.
• Produce reporting and insights for stakeholders to support decisions.
