Job summary

Select Plant Hire, part of Laing O''Rourke, is seeking a Procurement Manager to join the St Neots team. You will lead procurement for externally sourced plant, tools and equipment, working with operational and commercial teams and suppliers.

Develop strategic supplier partnerships, drive value and ensure procurement governance compliance, and support continuous improvement to boost service, efficiency and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant hire procurement within construction or industrial environments.
• Proven ability to manage supplier performance and negotiations.
• Familiarity with procurement governance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for externally hired plant, tools and equipment.
• Manage and develop strategic supplier relationships with key supply chain partners.
• Lead commercial negotiations and framework agreements for hires.
• Monitor supplier performance and ensure quality, service and value.
• Ensure compliance with procurement governance and delegated authority.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to support continuity.
• Collaborate with project teams to forecast requirements and plan procurement.
• Provide reporting and insights for stakeholders to inform decisions.
