Job summary

Quanex requires a driven and dynamic Procurement Buyer to join the procurement team for the ERA & Zoo divisions of their Hardware Solutions sector.

The role covers supplier selection, RFQ analysis, onboarding of suppliers, and ongoing performance management in collaboration with the supply chain teams and NPD procurement to align with global sourcing strategies. You will monitor supplier performance and contribute to reporting dashboards as part of the procurement team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a procurement role/environment.
• Experience of working in manufacturing or finished goods.
• Knowledge of ERP systems.
• Desirable to have CIPS accreditation or time-served experience.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement: select, evaluate and qualify suppliers; issue RFQs and analyze economic competitiveness and supply chain.
• Monitor supplier performance with supply chain and logistics teams; address issues on purchase orders.
• Collaborate with NPD Procurement Team to align operational activities with global sourcing strategies.
• Source new suppliers and onboard them following pre-qualification processes.
• Conduct data analysis on new suppliers, supplier metrics, product metrics and assist in general reporting including dashboards.
