Job summary

XYZ Reality, based in Reading, seeks a Procurement Manager to own end-to-end procurement for the NPI facility. You will drive supplier strategy, negotiations, contracts, and P2P processes, ensuring supplier performance and cost reductions across electro-mechanical, optical and electronic assemblies sourced internationally.

You will build a function from the ground up, aligning supplier quality with QMS and leading a small team; a strong track record in negotiations and ERP usage is required.

Qualifications

• Substantial procurement experience in electronics/electro-mechanical/precision-manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrable negotiation record with measurable savings and improved commercial terms.
• Experience of supplier quality management under ISO 9001, including audits and corrective action.
• Confident user of ERP purchasing modules; CIPS qualification or equivalent desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own supplier base - segmentation, approval, review and rationalisation.
• Negotiate pricing, lead times, payment terms, MOQs and framework agreements.
• Own supplier contracts, NDAs, tooling ownership, and consignment or buffer-stock arrangements.
• Manage service, maintenance, support and calibration agreements for production equipment and facilities.
• Own the purchase-to-pay process end to end, ERP data, reorder points and safety stock.
• Line-manage the Systems Engineer and report spend, savings and supplier performance.
