Job summary

Quanex requires an NPD Procurement Specialist who will act as the key focal point for the procurement department as part of New Product Development (NPD) projects. You will lead supplier selection, negotiate with suppliers, and coordinate with Engineering to ensure component performance and validation for new products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, procurement or business-related discipline is desirable.
• Proven procurement experience with project execution.
• CIPS accreditation is desirable.
• Experience working in a multinational environment with a global supply base.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier selection, evaluation and qualification for new components and finished products, including RFQ issuance and analysis; support make-or-buy analyses and onboarding of new suppliers.
• Monitor NPD milestones and requirements, tracking progress against quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Develop structured action plans to resolve projects or process bottlenecks in Procurement processes.
• Collaborate with Procurement Commodity Buyers to align operations with global sourcing strategies.
• Lead supplier negotiations under guidance of Procurement Leader and Buyer.
• Coordinate activities between Engineering and suppliers to define technical requirements, performance and validation of components.
