Job summary

Atlas NextWave is seeking an experienced Operational Buyer to support procurement activities in a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment in the United Kingdom. You will manage supplier relationships, support sourcing, negotiate prices, and ensure P2P processes are followed to meet business and customer requirements.

The role requires proven direct procurement experience, strong SAP transactions, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of suppliers and drive high levels of service.
• Support sourcing activities including supplier selection and onboarding.
• Negotiate supplier price adjustments and resolve invoicing, payment, and purchase order queries.
• Process purchase orders accurately and on time.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and involve procurement early.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, systems, and P2P processes.
• Support supplier qualification, evaluation, and development activities.
• Maintain procurement records and supplier data.
• Contribute to procurement improvement initiatives and business plan objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of suppliers, maintaining strong relationships and driving high levels of service and performance.
• Support sourcing activities, including supplier selection and onboarding for new requirements.
• Negotiate supplier price adjustments and help resolve invoicing, payment, and purchase order queries.
• Manage procurement work queues and ensure purchase orders are raised and processed accurately and on time.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, provide procurement support, and drive early procurement involvement.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, systems, and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
• Support supplier qualification, evaluation, development, and performance management activities.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier data, and contract documentation.
• Contribute to procurement improvement initiatives and business plan objectives.

About You

• Proven experience in a direct procurement or purchasing role.
• Strong SAP transactional experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a wider team.
• Comfortable operating within complex, global organisations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
