Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead and coordinate preconstruction activities across the Business Unit and Sector, driving opportunity management, resource planning and bid delivery in line with BAM's standards.

You will work with senior stakeholders, guide multidisciplinary teams, build a robust pipeline, support bid teams, and help secure high-quality opportunities while developing client relationships and delivering sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in preconstruction, bid management, and work-winning.
• Strong understanding of procurement routes, commercial principles, and tendering.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Focus preconstruction activities to align with strategic objectives.
• Oversee development of preconstruction solutions to build a robust pipeline.
• Review bid decisions to ensure strategy and client focus.
• Resource opportunities and bids with sector leaders for profitable delivery.
• Source specialist bid resources via central Preconstruction Team.
• Support Bid Managers to prepare winning solutions and meet processes.
• Occasionally undertake Bid Manager role on strategic bids.
• Provide technical input to opportunities and ensure high-quality submissions.
• Identify cross-sell opportunities between Sectors and Segments.
• Represent the BU at Segment Preconstruction meetings.
• Coordinate with Estimating to consider market trends in risk/budgets.
• Help develop supply chain and designer strategy with value for money propositions.
• Engage with industry bodies to promote BAM capabilities and client approach.
