Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is recruiting a Pre-Construction Manager to join the Central construction segment. Based at the Solihull office, this role covers the Central region, with a flexible working policy in place.

You will lead the preconstruction process from tender stage to main contract award on education projects, collaborating with clients, consultants, the supply chain and the internal BAM team to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications

• A degree qualification or equivalent and CIOB or equivalent.
• Experience leading preconstruction teams across design, commercial, planning and construction.
• Strong communication with clients and consultants; ability to add value.
• Experience developing tender strategy and bid submissions.
• Proven ability to manage bid process from tender to contract award.
• Proficiency in MS Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing tender information and developing the bid strategy.
• Take full ownership of bid submissions including coordinating, writing and reviewing the work of others.
• Manage and liaise with bid managers and writers.
• Establish the tender delivery programme, input into tender resource schedule/budget.
• Leading internal and external tender meetings.
• Visiting the site of proposed projects to assess build constraints.
• Meeting with clients/designers to understand constraints.
• Identify and select consultants / designers / supply chain partners.
• Engaging clients, designers and supply chain when developing design & construction methodology.
• Preparing presentation slides for mid/post tender interviews.
• Managing the second stage of tender through to contract award.
• Visiting live sites to inform future tenders.
• Supporting national / inter-regional bids and initiatives.
