Job summary

The Emerald Group Ltd, Search and Selection is seeking an experienced Pricing Actuary to support underwriting teams in General Insurance in the UK. The role focuses on pricing existing and new portfolios, developing profitability analyses, and governance for pricing standards.

You will collaborate across actuarial and underwriting teams, manage data-driven pricing projects, and contribute to capital modelling and planning for the division.

Qualifications

• Numerical degree is required.
• Qualified Actuary designation or progress.
• Pricing experience within General Insurance is required.
• Multiclass experience preferred.
• Data manipulation and technical modelling skills are essential.
• Coding experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pricing assessment of existing and new portfolio opportunities.
• Assist in the collection and research of pricing data, and then in the development of analysis and reporting of pricing data.
• Evolve pricing standards as per market requirements (e.g.: Lloyds BPPF, consistency with AIG).
• Drive and embed pricing governance within the team (developing clear audit trails, setting governance priorities).
• Introduce new profitability studies which define how the team approaches planning going forwards for this segment.
• Lead the business planning of the division and assist in parameterising the capital model.
