Job summary

CAVU is seeking an experienced Head of Portfolio Management & Governance to join our Strategy & Governance team and lead the development of an enterprise PMO. This leadership role requires shaping governance, delivery frameworks and assurance across a portfolio of strategic initiatives.

Reporting to the Strategy & Governance Director, you’ll oversee prioritisation, reporting and benefits realisation, influence senior stakeholders, and embed best‑in‑class PMO practices to ensure delivery stays

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading and developing a PMO function within a complex organisation.
• Proven success designing and embedding portfolio governance frameworks, delivery methodologies and controls.
• Experience managing enterprise portfolios comprising strategic change, transformation and operational initiatives.
• Expertise in portfolio governance, benefits management, dependency management, change control and delivery assurance.
• Experience working with portfolio management tools (PPM) and leveraging data to improve delivery performance.
• Strong knowledge of methodologies such as PRINCE2, APM, MoP, Agile or SAFe.
• Excellent stakeholder management at Executive/Board level.
• Strong commercial awareness balancing priorities, risks, resources and investment decisions.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholder groups.
• Experience in travel, aviation, technology or fast-paced customer-focused sectors.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation programmes.
• Knowledge of strategic planning and operating model design.
• Experience establishing PMO standards in evolving businesses.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and continuous development of Cavu's PMO.
• Embed portfolio governance frameworks, methodologies, controls and standards across programmes.
• Own and maintain the PMO blueprint, delivery frameworks and portfolio operating model.
• Ensure effective prioritisation, governance and oversight of enterprise-wide programmes and projects.
• Drive consistency in delivery practices, reporting, risk management and benefits tracking.
• Lead governance forums and provide assurance across portfolio reporting and decision-making processes.
• Provide strategic leadership across complex, multi-disciplinary change programmes.
• Support project and delivery teams to ensure robust governance and delivery disciplines.
• Oversee programme interdependencies, resource planning, timelines, risks and milestones.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders and help remove blockers.
• Ensure projects deliver agreed business outcomes and value.
• Develop meaningful management information and dashboards for Exec governance forums.
• Influence accountability, transparency and a collaborative delivery culture.
• Foster a culture that accelerates decision-making and supports organisational growth.
