Job summary

Duranta, based at the Middlesbrough plant in Teesside, is seeking a Financial Controller to manage on-site financial and management accounting from invoicing to forecasting.

Reporting to the Group Finance Director and coordinating with the CEO, you will maintain robust financial controls, oversee month-end, cash flow, payroll and HMRC submissions.

The role offers a hands-on, senior position with scope to adjust seniority and remuneration based on experience.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA or CIMA (QBE considered)
• Min 3 years’ experience in a relevant role with solid accounting principles
• Financial reporting & operational experience preferable
• Comfortable with IT systems, Sage in particular
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs

Responsibilities

• Support the CEO to prepare the annual budget and forecasts
• Review purchase invoices and payment runs
• Produce sales invoices and self-billing invoices
• Review bank reconciliations
• Implement robust month-end process with variance analysis
• Assist with Board report ahead of monthly meetings
• Support OFGEM submissions (training provided)
• Maintain fixed asset register
• Complete year-end process and assist with audit
• Produce 13-week rolling cash flow forecast
• Oversee quarterly VAT returns
• Payroll and HMRC returns
