Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc in Fort Augustus is seeking a Planning Manager to steer strategic planning and scheduling for flagship construction projects. You will guide the planning team, optimise timelines and resource allocation, and ensure delivery aligned with site objectives.

The role requires strong experience in planning methodologies and common industry tools, with leadership and mentorship responsibilities within a dynamic, 37.5-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven leadership and mentorship abilities.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and planning tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction management and change management.
• Experience in scheduling and managing complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning and scheduling for multiple projects.
• Drive best planning practices across the portfolio.
• Mentor and develop the planning team.
• Identify planning scope, constraints and tender strategy.
• Oversee development of programmes, reports and presentations.
• Ensure alignment with commercial and planning procedures.
• Evaluate critical paths and implement corrective actions.
• Efficiently manage labour, equipment and materials.
• Oversee contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Track progress via KPIs and support improvement decisions.
