Job summary

Standard Bank Group seeks a strategic Country People & Culture leader to define and deliver the P&C agenda across the country, aligning with Group strategies and executive leadership. You will partner with the Chief Executive, Country Exco and Board to drive culture change and high performance.

You will lead talent management, succession planning and development, while ensuring HR policies and programs support business goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources is required.
• 3–4 years experience in People and Culture with experience across the P&C employee value chain.
• 5–7 years as a P&C Business partner to business leadership across geography, multiple portfolios/locations.
• Leadership experience in a multinational with exec and senior management exposure.
• Proven track record of driving people strategies in complex, dynamic organisations.
• Experience in organisational transformation and aligning HR practices with strategic outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Drive the P&C strategy to align with Country, Business Segment and Group Function strategies.
• Translate the P&C strategy into a Country People Plan in agreement with the CE and Regional P&C Head.
• Lead the P&C change agenda as a steward and catalyst to improve productivity and performance.
• Partner with the CE and Board to shape Talent, succession, development and retention plans.
• Build strong relationships with BU Leadership and employees to maintain credibility of P&C.
• Manage the P&C function in-country per leadership principles and Habits Framework, covering Talent Acquisition through to Exit, Performance, Learning, Rewards and Operations.
