Job summary

Scottish Government is seeking a Policy Officer in the Offshore Wind Policy and Skills Division within the Offshore Wind Directorate. This varied role involves working closely with ministers, senior officials and stakeholders to support the development of Scotland’s offshore wind workforce.

The role supports programme delivery, policy briefing, data analysis and cross-sector collaboration, with a focus on delivering the Offshore Wind Skills Programme and Programme for Government commitments.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of the Offshore Wind Skills Programme, contributing to coordinated activity across government, industry and education partners.
• Assist in the management and monitoring of programme activity, including supporting grant processes, tracking delivery, and maintaining oversight of key outputs and milestones.
• Contribute to delivery of the Offshore Wind Skills Priorities and Action Plan and supporting delivery of Programme for Government commitments.
• Engage with stakeholders including industry bodies, skills organisations, education providers and other public sector partners to support collaboration and alignment of activity.
• Support work to strengthen the evidence base for offshore wind workforce planning, including gathering, analysing and interpreting data and research.
• Contribute to briefings, policy advice and analysis for Ministers and senior officials, ensuring outputs are clear, evidence-based and timely.
• Deliver core government business, including responses to PQs, FOIs, correspondence and briefing requests.
• Work flexibly across the offshore wind directorate to support delivery of other priority areas of work.
