Job summary

Finsbury Food Group is seeking a Materials Planner for its UK Supply Team based in Sheffield. You will ensure uninterrupted supply of raw materials and packaging, aligning availability with production forecasts and demand, and you’ll schedule purchase orders accordingly.

You’ll work closely with procurement, production, warehouse and finance to optimize inventory, resolve supplier issues, and support continuous improvement while upholding food safety standards such as BRC and HACCP.

Qualifications

• Experience in a materials planning or supply chain role.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Excellent communication and supplier management skills.
• Highly analytical, organised and detail-oriented.
• Proactive problem-solver with ability to adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain material requirements plans (MRPs) based on production forecasts and demand.
• Schedule and release purchase orders in line with production needs.
• Monitor delivery schedules and resolve issues with suppliers.
• Collaborate with procurement, warehouse and finance to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Prepare reports on material availability, usage and forecast accuracy.
