Job summary

Finsbury Food Group, a leading bakery manufacturer, is hiring a Materials Planner in the UK Supply Team. You will create MRPs from forecasts, schedule orders, monitor supplier deliveries and optimise inventory to keep bakeries running efficiently.

You’ll work closely with procurement, production, warehouse and finance, ensuring material availability and compliance with food safety standards. Strong communication and data analysis skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a materials planning or supply chain role.
• Strong understanding of MRP systems and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and supplier management skills.
• Highly analytical, organised, and detail-oriented.
• Proactive problem-solver with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis tools.
• Understanding of food safety, allergen control, and traceability is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain accurate material requirements plans (MRPs) based on production forecasts and actual demand.
• Schedule and release purchase orders in line with production needs.
• Monitor supplier deliveries and resolve issues impacting production.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels and minimise excess or obsolete stock.
• Collaborate with procurement, warehouse and finance to support planning.
• Prepare reports on material availability, usage and forecast accuracy.
