Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd. is seeking a Material Controller to join the MSO department in Woking. You will work closely with suppliers to ensure timely and complete material arrivals, supporting bespoke and private commission programmes.

You will create delivery plans, manage supplier risk, onboard suppliers, and drive improvements across internal processes and the supply chain to ensure stable operations for McLaren’s high-performance vehicles.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Automotive OEM supply chains and supplier manufacturing processes.
• Experience with MRP or SAP desirable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships internally and externally.
• Resilient under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines.
• Ambitious and self-motivated.
• Strong Excel and data interpretation skills.
• Grasp of planning principles and objectives.
• Structured and organised approach to work.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain delivery plans that satisfy production, dealer-fit, MSO workshop and other needs.
• Support Idea-to-Fulfilment processes with other departments to deliver bespoke requests.
• Manage supplier logistics processes to identify, communicate and mitigate supply risk.
• Act as the point of contact for assigned suppliers and related material availability concerns.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers.
• Onboard suppliers and set up supply chain readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement in internal processes and supplier logistics quality.
• Own and manage MSO stock to correct inventory levels while minimising premium freight and obsolescence.
• Manage supplier base against defined KPIs to support business improvement.
