Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd in Woking is seeking a Material Controller to join the MSO department. You will manage supplier delivery plans, help ensure on-time and in-full material inflow, and foster strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities include coordinating with suppliers, onboarding, and driving continuous improvement in supplier logistics. The role emphasizes data interpretation, planning, and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain delivery plans for production, dealer-fit, MSO workshop and other sources.
• Support idea-to-fulfilment processes with other departments for bespoke supplier deliveries.
• Manage processes with suppliers to identify, communicate and mitigate supply risk.
• Be the point of contact for assigned suppliers and material availability.
• Collaborate with suppliers to maintain effective working relationships.
• Onboard suppliers including supply chain setup and readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement for internal processes and supplier logistics quality.
• Own and manage assigned MSO stock at correct levels while minimising excess and freight.
• Manage supply base against KPIs to support business improvement.
• Understand automotive OEM supply chains and supplier manufacturing processes.
• Experience with MRP and SAP is desirable.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication with stakeholders.
• Build relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
• Work under pressure to tight deadlines with resilience.
• Be ambitious, self-motivated and proactive.
• Excel and data interpretation skills essential.
• Apply sound planning principles and maintain organizational rigor.
• Communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders to meet department goals.
