Job summary

Vital Energi Ltd is seeking a Managing Quantity Surveyor for a 6-month fixed-term contract to provide commercial leadership across a portfolio of projects. You will oversee budgets, CVRs, cash flow and reporting, while mentoring teams and ensuring governance and commercial best practices.

The role requires a degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management, plus significant senior-level experience and chartered status or working toward it. Travel across sites will be required.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Significant experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or Managing Quantity Surveyor role.
• Strong leadership with ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
• Excellent commercial/financial acumen including forecasting, CVRs, cash flow reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop commercial teams with high standards of governance.
• Manage project budgets, forecasts, CVRs, cash flow and reporting to drive profitability.
• Monitor project performance and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Provide strategic contractual advice on NEC, JCT and other contracts; manage variations, claims and final accounts.
• Oversee procurement activities, subcontractor management and supply chain performance.
• Build relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders to support negotiations and delivery.
• Ensure consistent commercial processes and governance across projects.
• Support growth through resource planning and recruitment.
