Job summary

Doocey Group is seeking a Management Accountant on a fixed-term contract at our Tipton site. You will deliver accurate management information to senior stakeholders and support decision-making across the business. You will drive financial insight, contribute to profitability, and work in a fast-paced SME environment.

You will manage month-end journals, reconciliations, VAT, and prepayments while collaborating with the finance team to ensure timely reporting and compliance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience within a similar role.
• Strong understanding of UK accounting standards and practices.
• Advanced proficiency in SAGE Accounting and MS Excel.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and posting month-end journals within Finance SLAs.
• Reconciliation of bank accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month end accounts preparation with accurate data.
• Identify variances and analyse unusual cost trends.
• Complete monthly and quarterly VAT returns within deadlines.
• Prepare prepayments and accruals within SLAs.
• Reconcile with costing reports to ensure accuracy.
• Validate subcontractor payments prior to processing.
• Assist with purchase and sales ledger tasks and queries.
• Complete ad-hoc reporting and data analysis to identify trends.
