Job summary

Doocey Group in Tipton seeks a Management Accountant to join our SME finance team. You will report to the Group Financial Controller and provide timely management information to support strategic decision-making and profitability.

The role covers month-end journals, reconciliations, VAT returns, and collaboration with stakeholders across the business. You’ll need extensive experience in UK accounting standards and be proficient in SAGE Accounting and MS Excel.

Qualifications

• ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in a similar management accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals and ensure timeliness within SLAs.
• Reconcile bank accounts and complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end accounts and provide accurate management information.
• Identify variances and communicate trends to Finance Director.
• Prepare VAT returns and manage prepayments and accruals.
• Reconcile costing reports and validate subcontractor payments.
• Support purchase and sales ledgers and respond to queries.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis to identify patterns and actions.
