Job summary

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a Management Accountant to join the Finance and Procurement team to deliver accurate financial accounting services for the Service, its partners and external organisations.

The role requires interpreting financial regulations, providing analysis and guidance, and supporting monthly reconciliations and budget management. Flexible working arrangements are offered to promote work-life balance.

Qualifications

• University degree related to Finance and Part Qualified (CCAB approved) or AAT qualified (with relevant CPD).
• Relevant experience or equivalent.
• Immediately available.

Responsibilities

• To produce financial plans and budgets and maintain, monitor & report on allocated areas of responsibility within the Service.
• Contribute to the financial management of the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service's revenue and capital budgets.
• Liaise with cost centre managers, internal and external auditors, contractors and suppliers of financial services and other department.
• Provide financial advice and information as required to Government Departments, external auditors and external bodies, partnerships, Fire Authority members and officers within the Service.
• Undertake monthly balance sheet reconciliations as directed.
