Job summary

SUEZ, a leading environmental services company in the United Kingdom, seeks a proactive Planning Engineer to own the execution of planned maintenance shutdowns across the site. You will coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Procurement and Contractors to deliver outages safely, on time and within budget.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will develop detailed shutdown plans, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum ONC or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience planning and coordinating shutdowns/outages in heavy industrial environments.
• Experience using CMMS and MS Project.
• Experience managing contractors and procurement; health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed shutdown and maintenance plans using MS Project and CMMS.
• Manage shutdown delivery including scope, critical path, progress, planning meetings.
• Monitor outage performance and lead post-shutdown reviews for continuous improvement.
• Coordinate engineering, maintenance and contractor resources, producing work packs, permits, risk assessments and spares.
