Job summary

HFL Building Solutions Group is seeking a commercially minded Business Development Manager to lead the growth of M&E maintenance and technical compliance contracts.

Based from head office in Manchester with regional site visits, the role requires developing opportunities, managing relationships with managing agents and asset owners, and delivering winning proposals and tenders to secure long-term business for HFL.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ business development experience within commercial M&E maintenance, Facilities Management or Building Solutions.
• Demonstrable success winning maintenance contracts valued between £100k - £2m per annum.
• Existing relationships with managing agents and commercial property professionals.
• Strong technical understanding of M&E maintenance services.
• Experience responding to OJEU/Public Sector tenders.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identify, develop and secure new M&E maintenance and technical compliance opportunities across target sectors.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with managing agents, property owners, asset managers, surveyors, consultants and occupiers.
• Develop strategic account plans to generate new business and expand existing client relationships.
• Attend client meetings, networking events, industry functions and site visits to identify and convert opportunities.
• Engage confidently with technical consultants and stakeholders, demonstrating a strong understanding of M&E engineering and statutory compliance requirements.
• Review client specifications, maintenance requirements and render documentation to identify commercial opportunities and risks.
• Collaborate with operational and estimating teams to develop commercially viable and competitive solutions.
• Lead and coordinate the preparation of high-quality tenders, proposals and presentations that clearly differentiate HFL from competitors.
• Deliver persuasive presentations to prospective clients, consultations and senior decision makers.
