Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee fleet, transport and distribution within a fast-paced supply chain. This hands-on role ensures safe, compliant operations and excellent customer service across a busy delivery network.

You will lead fleet planning, route optimisation, and performance reporting while managing drivers and transportation teams. A strong background in transport compliance, tachographs, and IT-enabled logistics is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Logistics, Transport or Fleet Management.
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance and tachographs.
• Experience managing drivers and transport teams.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong IT and reporting capabilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day fleet operations and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate servicing, repairs, inspections, MOTs and maintenance.
• Arrange breakdown support and vehicle hire when required.
• Oversee loading and ensure efficient dispatch operations.
• Plan and optimise delivery routes and schedules.
• Monitor telematics, tracking and driver performance systems.
• Coordinate exceptional delivery plans during peak periods.
• Maintain transport, fleet and operational records.
• Produce performance and compliance reports.
• Work with internal teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Manage delivery staff and holidays.
