Job summary

VerseOne Group seeks a Deputy Director of Midwifery and Neonates to lead the strategic direction of the Perinatal Health Clinical Service Unit, spanning maternity and neonatal services. The postholder collaborates with Clinical Leads, Divisional Directors and the Trust Executive Team to ensure governance and delivery align with corporate objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in maternity and neonatal services.
• Ability to provide expert advice to senior management and board.
• Experience with governance, policy, legislation and risk management.
• Experience with strategic service planning and workforce development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic direction for the Perinatal Health CSU, covering maternity and neonatal services.
• Work with Clinical Leads for Obstetrics and Neonatal services, Divisional Clinical Director and Deputy Directors of Operations on service provision and development.
• Provide expert nursing advice to senior management on strategic planning, governance and compliance.
• Lead external assessments and inspections (e.g., Care Quality Commission) and prepare action plans for improvements.
• Interpret health service policy to set goals and standards for maternity care and to ensure financial performance across services.
• Act for the Director of Midwifery when required and represent MSE externally as needed.
