Job summary

Greencore, a leading UK food producer, seeks Head of Safety, Health & Environment to shape the SH&E strategy across our national logistics, warehousing and distribution operations.

You will lead a small team, partner with regulators, drive road safety improvements and embed a culture where safety is not just a priority but how we work every day.

This role reports into the Director of Safety, Health & Environment and offers a broad, impactful remit within Greencore.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in health & safety, ideally in logistics, distribution or warehousing.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• Chartered IOSH member or working towards.
• Strong grasp of road risk and its impact on people and operations.
• Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy and implement a forward-looking Logistics SH&E strategy.
• Oversee policies, systems and governance across multiple sites.
• Lead and coach a small team and mentor colleagues.
• Engage with regulators (HSE, LA, EA) as external voice.
• Champion road safety with transport and logistics teams.
• Lead H&S due diligence for premises and facilities.
• Build relationships from depot teams to senior leaders.
• Contribute to the Senior SHE team to improve risk profile.
• Lead Greencore's approach to on-site security.
