Job summary

The Windsor Forest Colleges Group seeks a Head of Department for Structural Technologies to lead our Slough and Langley College team from August 2026. A permanent, full-time appointment on Scale M with a salary between £45,196 and £48,286 per year.

The role centers on driving student retention and achievement, leading the curriculum team, and ensuring high standards in practical workshops and classrooms while aligning with LSIP and local industry needs.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification and a recognised teaching qualification are essential.
• Experience running vocational courses with high student success rates is required.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor instructional and academic staff; targets and safety are key.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the structural technologies curriculum team across campuses.
• Oversee programme managers and ensure high standards of practical workshops and classrooms.
• Drive Teaching, Learning and Assessment framework and monitor at-risk students for targeted support.
• Build ties with regional employers to align courses with LSIP and local market needs.
