The Works Stores Ltd is seeking an Internal Communications Partner to connect colleagues to our purpose, strategy and impact. You’ll partner with leaders across the business to turn priorities into clear, compelling stories and maintain a joined-up communications calendar.

Reporting into the business and shaping tone, channels and audiences, you’ll deliver polished, audience-led communications that inform, engage and inspire colleagues. Hybrid role with on-site days 1-2 per week.

Qualifications

• Strategic, commercially aware communications professional.
• Proven track record delivering campaigns and colleague communications.
• Strong storytelling with ability to turn complex topics into clear messages.
• Excellent copywriting with adaptable tone and polished outputs.
• Audience-focused, with ability to tailor content to varied groups.
• Organised, able to manage a busy communications calendar.
• Creative and visually minded, with presentations and video.
• Digitally confident across channels and platforms.
• Evidence-based, using feedback and data to improve engagement.
• Influential, building trusted relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Understand the business – Build a strong understanding of our strategy, priorities and functions so communications reflect the wider business context.
• Be a trusted adviser – Partner with leaders and stakeholders to understand their objectives, shape communications and provide clear recommendations.
• Own the communication – Get underneath each request, taking responsibility for the story, colleague relevance, tone, channels and communications approach.
• Challenge constructively – Ask the right questions, simplify complexity and respectfully challenge activity that lacks a clear purpose or does not serve colleagues.
• Represent Internal Communications – Build credibility across the business, flexing your style for different personalities, functions and levels of seniority.
