Job summary

Tarmac is seeking an experienced HR Manager to support our Tunstead Cement Plant, Commercial and Supply Chain & Logistics Central operations. You will partner with senior leaders to provide expert HR guidance, manage complex employee relations, and lead organisational change while ensuring legal compliance and constructive consultation with Trade Unions.

The role focuses on coaching leaders, driving a high-performance culture, and delivering workforce planning, recruitment and development

Qualifications

• Significant generalist HR experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Experience managing complex employee relations and change programmes.
• Experience working in a unionised environment with Trade Unions.
• Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and practical application.
• Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to provide expert HR advice on people matters.
• Deliver high-quality employee relations, handling disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability cases.
• Lead industrial relations activities and support annual pay negotiations.
• Drive organisational change programmes with lawful consultation and change management.
• Coach leaders to strengthen capability and support a high-performance culture.
• Support workforce planning, succession and talent development.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding and early careers initiatives across business areas.
• Collaborate to deliver consistent HR practices and drive continuous improvement.
