ITSS Recruitment Ltd is seeking an HR Manager for a manufacturing business near Thirsk, North Yorkshire. This role commands a salary of £45,000–£55,000 and offers the chance to shape people strategy within a growing company.

You will manage employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, payroll liaison, policies, performance and reporting, with CIPD Level 5 or equivalent preferred. The role requires an on-site presence at modern offices and a proactive, practical approach.

Qualifications

• Solid generalist HR experience in manufacturing or operational environments.
• Experience handling employee relations, case management and absence.
• Proven ability to lead recruitment and onboarding.
• Strong documentation, compliance and data recording.
• Ability to partner with managers and provide practical guidance.

Responsibilities

• Manage disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability cases end-to-end to ensure timely, fair and legally compliant outcomes.
• Provide practical guidance to line managers on day-to-day people matters to reduce escalation and build confidence in handling issues locally.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all cases to ensure defensible and consistent decision-making.
• Monitor absence and behavioural trends to identify recurring issues and support early intervention.
• Lead recruitment activities from advert drafting through to offer and onboarding to ensure operational roles are filled efficiently.
• Coordinate onboarding processes, including right-to-work checks and contractual documentation.
• Coordinate payroll inputs with Finance to ensure accurate monthly processing.
• Maintain core HR policies and develop an accessible employee handbook to improve clarity and transparency.
• Support managers with performance discussions and pay review preparations.
