Job summary

East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA) seeks an experienced HR Advisor to join our People and Organisational Development team. You will provide practical, responsive HR advice to managers and staff, handling a caseload of employee relations and supporting organisational change across the organisation.

You will work closely with Senior HR Advisors, escalate complex cases, and help ensure policies are applied fairly and consistently. CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience providing HR advice to managers and employees.
• Experience managing or supporting employee relations casework.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures and people management practices.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain an organised caseload.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HR advice and guidance to managers on disciplinary, absence, performance, probation, flexible working and terms and conditions.
• Manage an allocated employee relations caseload ensuring timely progression.
• Coach managers to own day-to-day people management responsibilities.
• Identify complex or high-risk issues and escalate appropriately.
• Support organisational change including restructures, TUPE, redundancies and redeployments.
• Prepare workforce information and HR documentation for consultation and change initiatives.
• Support Senior HR colleagues on TUPE and organisational integration activity.
• Contribute to development and review of HR policies and manager resources.
• Support wider People and OD projects including engagement and workforce planning.
• Analyse workforce information to identify trends and inform interventions.
