Job summary

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is recruiting for a postholder to join our Housing Strategy team, delivering strategic housing functions such as policy development for affordable and supported housing and research across housing issues.

The role will help deliver duties under the Supported Housing Act 2023, assist with licensing, commission a needs assessment, develop a new Supported Housing Strategy, and support governance boards with reports and meetings.

Qualifications

• You will be a housing or support professional with an appropriate qualification.
• Knowledge of strategic or supported housing legislation and guidance.
• Flexible approach with occasional out-of-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver strategic housing duties and develop affordable and supported housing policies.
• Commission and produce a supported housing needs assessment across vulnerable client groups.
• Develop a new Supported Housing Strategy for the borough over 5–10 years and monitor delivery.
• Collate and analyse data, identify objectives, and conduct consultations.
• Serve a multi-agency Supported Housing Governance Board and assist with meetings, agendas and reports.
