Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Highways Asset Manager to join on a six-month contract in Buckinghamshire. This full-time, on-site role focuses on delivering and maintaining highways asset management plans, lifecycle planning, and robust data integrity.

You will engage with stakeholders, manage capital and revenue budgets up to £75m, and help drive devolution and performance monitoring of highway programs.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive highways asset management plans, including lifecycle planning, inventory and condition data, and short- and medium-term programmes.
• Act as a senior technical representative for the council, engaging with members, senior officers, government departments including DfT, partners and the public.
• Manage and influence significant capital and revenue budgets (up to £75m), ensuring value for money and robust financial planning.
• Oversee devolution arrangements, income generation activities (including highway advertisements), and performance monitoring.
